The name of the national artist of the Azerbaijan, the winner State respublic award Sattar Bahlulzade (1909-1974) is well known not only in Azerbaijan, but also is far behind its limits. It the first of the Azerbaijan artists, whose works has demonstrated in Europe. Works of Bahlulzade were shown in expositions of owls-belt of the Azerbaijan painting of Moscow and Leningrad, Kiev and Riga, Tbilisi and Kishinev, Istanbul and London, Paris and Naples, Vienna and Berlin, Montreal and Havana, Cairo and Damascus, Beyrut and Bagdad. At the exhibitions of Azerbaijan art were repeatedly arranged inhabitants of Tashkent were familiar with remarkable creativity of the artist.
The painter Sattar Bahlulzade is the founder lyrical landscape in the fine arts of Azerbaijan. In its pictures was reflected synthesis of ancient traditions of the Azerbaijan culture and modern attitude. The artist are compare with the French impressionists, in his landscapes is found the elements of puantilism.
According to the decision of 34th session of General Assembly of UNESCO about carrying out in 2008-2009 of the 100 anniversary of outstanding Azerbaijan artist Sattar Bahlulzade, in Azerbaijan and behind its limits a series of actions is spent.
On the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Republic Uzbekistan, also with participation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Academy of Art of Uzbekistan in Tashkent in a Central Exhibition Hall Academy of Art the exhibition of reproductions of works of S.Bahlulzade was spent. According to the Agreement on humanitarian cooperation between Republic Uzbekistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan according to which carrying out of mutual art exhibitions in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has provided.
Heads of official bodies of public organisations, art workers of Uzbekistan, the head of embassies and other diplomatic missions has accredited in Tashkent, and also representatives of mass media and active workers of the Azerbaijan diaspora of Tashkent were invited to action.
At an exhibition reproductions of 15 works (painting and a drawing) the different periods of creativity of the artist were exhibited. Except pictures at an exhibition some stands with photos have been established. So, the photos reflecting a course of life of the artist have been exposed. Also photos of the most known works of S.Bahlulzade which make national property of Azerbaijan has exposed and nowadays stored in republic galleries. Interest causes the stand «S.Bahlulzade by eyes of contemporaries» on which photos of works of artists and the sculptors representing the well-known artist has placed.
On the monitor screen was shown a documentary film «This is Sattar Bahlulzade», made by Azerbaijan cinematographers.
Also, the embassy prepared colored booklets, briefly reflecting the life and work of the great artist.
