The State Academic  Bolshoi Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alishir  Navoi in Tashkent organized an event dedicated to the memory of outstanding  Azerbaijani opera singer,  People's Artist of  USSR  Firangiz Akhmedova, who died in Baku on 16 December 2011.
At the event  was attended staff of the Embassy  of Azerbaijan, famous figures the  arts and culture of Uzbekistan.
Firangiz Akhmedova  has been repeatedly in Tashkent and  her works were well known as  professionals art and just a spectator.
Director of the Bolshoi Theatre, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan  Bakhtiyar  Yakubov, artistic director of Theater, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan  Fazliddin Yakubdzhanov, People's Artist of USSR, conductor  Dilbar  Abdurakhmanova  told  his memories of working with the Firangiz Aliyeva, and about her human qualities.
Charge’d Affaires of  the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Uzbekistan Akif Aliyev red  an obituary signed by the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev and members of the Azerbaijani government. He highlighted the role  and  position  Firangiz  Akhmedova  in history  Azerbaijani opera.
Spouse Firangiz Akhmedova, People's Artist of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan  Firuddin Safarov told about attention given to the development of opera Azerbaijan. On his behalf and on behalf of his family, he expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Azerbaijan for  organizing high-level mourning actions in memory of Firangiz hanum.
